Community Support
United for a better Wellesley
We are all stronger together and are reaching out to our, students, alums, and tenured colleagues for support in our effort. One aspect of the job we appreciate the most is the collegiality and collaboration we have with tenure-track and tenured faculty at Wellesley, and the relationships we share with our students and alums. We believe a union will unite rather than divide us. We have come to this important decision after years of advocacy and careful deliberation, and not from an adversarial position. In fact, we approach this effort in the spirit of “a rising tide lifts all boats” - in the hopes that our efforts to better define our relationship to the college and to have greater voice in our working conditions can be a benefit to us all.
How can you support us? One important first step is to sign your name as a show of your support for FIP faculty in our efforts to unionize.
Read the full letter "Why FIPs Need a Union," which conveys our reasons for unionizing.
Tenured faculty can sign by clicking here.
Students and Alums can sign by clicking here.
On December 15, a group of tenured faculty sent administration a letter conveying support for our effort. Read their letter here.
